I hated Orks till I painted a couple.

The plan was to just to practice dry brushing, but now I'm thinking I'd like army of these guys one day...

I finally got around to painting my first "big" guy, standing at about 3" high he towers over the orcs.

I spent a couple weeks slowly working on him, and while he's far from perfect, I'm happy with him.

Rawr.

This is my first time messing with green stuff. I was really happy with how the posing turned out, but I should have done a better job of cleaning up the excess.

C'est la vie.

More on these guys later!

Space Marines, a set on Flickr.

I'd had the 'Assault on Black Reach' 40k starter set for about a 6 months before I decided to paint it.

It was a spontaneous decision. I honestly thought I'd find painting miniatures to be tedious and hard and had no intention of painting the anything when I bought the set. It is tedious and hard, but I like it anyway.

I started painting before I'd read any 'fluff', so I didn't realize I was painting 'Ultramarines' so similarly to 'Black Templar'. Oh well, I don't even like Space Marines.

Now Chaos...there's an army!

This is the first painting I've done, so please excuse the gloppy mess. All tips, tricks and comments are always welcome!
